-- THE SHACK PROJECT --
This is an effort to seed all existing MMW shows, and yes, preserving the original SHN/FLAC filesets. The seeding will proceed chronologically for the most part, with exceptions as we feel the vibe to seed other gigs from other times.

Thanks to MMW for allowing their music to be recorded....really, thank you.

Huge thanks goes out to the tapers, without whom this wouldn't be possible...and those that have helped get the tunes to our ears.

And thanks to the other 4 guys I've dragged into this and who seem committed to the cause: Louie, Mike Tom & Todd....we're all listening to these shows and hopefully circulating the best versions.

All shows listed here in SHN/FLAC will be seeded:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmw

These shows will be seeded as well, either by me or by one of a few other kind souls:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwaccess

Shows listed here circulate in some manner. We are looking for as close to the original source as we can get so if you can help out with any of the following, we'd all appreciate it:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwneeds (this list is in the process of being compiled...maybe forever?)

I've started a thread over here for us to be able to discuss this project:

This is great sounding set, and well played taboot! That opening track has been labeled as Improv for years, but we decided to note it as an actual Improv off the tune If I Only Knew...it had been noted to include teases/quotes from that tune, but I think they fool around with it for a while and enough to note it as not just a straight up Improv...

I have an AUD matrix (w/o the SBD mixed in) that Peter King passed along to me which I will seed later today....this source sounds great for sure, but I think now that I've heard the AUD matrix, which is the same mixed mic source just without the SBD feed, I like the plain AUD better -- it's lacking a *wee bit* of the punch the bass might have in this source, but not much really, and is a little warmer overall in sound...but both sound great with not too great of a difference...

Anyway, you can decide for yourselves which you prefer if you grab both sources...

i have the following source for this show, if you want me to seed it:

Schoeps CMC64 > Beyer MV100 > DAP1

...unless this is the same one you are seeding later
duggy 2008-08-08 11:33:25
Actually, the AUD I have is still a matrix:
source: Earthworks TC-40K's center-stage mixed with Schoeps CMC-64V in the piano > Sonosax SX-PR4 > Apogee AD1000 > Hhb PDR-1000 @ 48k

...it just doesn't have the mono-SBD mixed into it.

Feel free to throw up your source as well though, man!

Note that by ending the Crosstown Traffic track where the song actually ends enables Set II to fit entirely on a disc by itself...the Encore still will have to be on its own disc, or the end of disc #1, but at least it would keep the set intact....I mention it in case you still need to track out your source. This is what I've done with the source I'm gonna seed later...the 'Crowd/Encore Break' and Bubblehouse won't fit w/the rest of Set II.

Well, not quite -- Note that your Schoeps source is mixed in for the piano.

Nonetheless, thanks for speaking up! And I look forward to hearing the show through your source as well...
kcc140 2008-08-08 12:17:18
yeah, i meant everything "onstage", opposed to audience...
