Thanks for sharing Jim James!!
Curious since it wasn't listed ... but what is the bit rate of the stream and how was it captured? Also what is the lineage... meaning what program did you use to capture and how was it converted? Might sound anal but this is quite important and should always be included in the torrent description.
Cheers, O'B |

If it's from the stream I'm afraid it's lossy and if this was broadcast on FM than this should be pulled as a lossless version could exist ( including audience recordings).
That said this does sound very nice indeed!! Thanks for your efforts mate and for sharing as well !!
Cheers, O'B

ps- Split track 8 at 3:09 to separate -
08- Bermuda Highway
09- The way That He Sings
They are combined here as one long track ;-) |

If you do pull this, people would appreciate it over on the archive if you want to put it there. There was another solo show with M Ward playing from earlier this year (3-15-08) that sounds good also for people interested.
Thanks |

I don't want to pull this..
I mean it does belong on DIME or something similar. Though a lot of mmj stuff gets posted here, i just thought that any mmj fan would love to hear this.
Interesting point on the "lossy" format. does this include analog recordings? going to dime next time.
support npr, and enjoy! |

I just wanna say that I do appreciate this very much and have been listening to it all afternoon.
But Dimeadozen's rules are even stricter and there are more moderators. I doubt this would have made it for more than an hour there. Web streams are ok if they are the only source available and are left in their original format. Just a note for future posts.
Here is a link regarding webcast streams from Dime-

Hope this helps ... cheers,

Thanks.
So if the source posted is the only one available it's ok. I understand. DIME seems to take almost anything quality-wise, then again, (if it's the only source available).. no problem at all.
Also FM sourced stuff is all over dime, is it not?
fwiw, this may be the only source of jim james at Newport. folk festivals don't often allow taping of any kind. Although i do not know the policy for Newport.
Chances probably are the npr fm broadcast or internet stream are the only possible sources.
Well, anyhoo i know a source like this is a big no-no in the taper gene pool.. but for the fans, a must have.

| I didn't see any tapers at all there. I know the Trey set got stealthed. I read that the only time they allowed taping was when the ABB was there a few years ago. It was in their contract and the festival had to honor it but when they were done with their set all the tapers had to take down their gear. Sucks because the majority of the artists that played this year allow taping. |

too funny... asource can be fm/sbd and lossless and be banned?
yet a digital recording from the upper level in a huge arena recorded on a shitty built in mic is fine just cause it is digital/lossless transfer?
I've been recording for 25 years and never heard such nonsense.
If I do not like it, I can either not dl it or delete.
BTW dime is a pain in the ass, as a seeder. They banned everything I posted. With more than a few hundered seeds here I know how to doi and what is acceptable. They have people running thinhgs there that have no clue how to make a live recording but yet act like tyrants....
thanks for this! |

Thanks for this! I was gonna take a stab at it myself but ya beat me to it.
Just saw a SMOKIN' show by MMJ in Austin Sunday night, a place that's almost like a 2nd home to them. They taped a new segment for ACL on Monday night that I believe will show on Nov. 1st.
