Mark Karan got friendly, again, as always!
The wind blew high this day!
So I applied probabilistic noise reduction- 'trained upon' the sound
of wind gusts, particularly in frequencies below 100 hz- to the recording.
This cuts those frequencies during a statistical match with the shape of wind.
Note this only reduces the volume of those frequencies- so the noise is still
present, just lowered in intensity.
Its not perfect, but the result is far more listenable than raw- slashing the wind
while preserving depth below the warm-fuzzy fat crunchiness of phil's new bass.
The recording still has that 'high-end' schwirl from the sound-waves surfing
along the wind-currents.

I was holding out to see if any other sources would show up here or on archive and they have not so I decided to seed this one. There is some minimal distortion during some parts of the show. Nothing to bad but still noticeable. This show is still very much listenable and for the most part sound quality is very good. I enjoyed hearing Mark Karan sitting in for Larry tonight. He brought his own flavor to the songs and was nice to hear the the small differences between his playing and Larry's playing, although I throughly enjoyed this show I think I still prefer Larry's playing.
-The only changes made were to the text file to clean it up to be seeded here. The original text file IS included in the torrent and it is the one that matches the db entry that was added some time ago before I got the show.
|thanks!! was a beautiful day, and probably the best location --- what a view!
|thanx for the seeding....it was 1 of those top 10 days in the City.....couldn't have been nicer.....peace
Mark Karan should seriously be playing with Phil Lesh and Friends....He brought the rock and roll sound back to the band..I have nothing against Larry Cambell, but him and Mark cant compare.
|hey, this is great. does anyone have anything from the day before, e.g. mmw or ozo's set?
