Notes on source #1
-The Phish Companion does not list d1t11 Lizards for this show but it is definitely
part of the show since they are no cuts before and there is a nice segue into the
song.
-This is the first time this show exists digitally and is the most complete source
with a known cassette generation.
-Tape flips
d1t11 8:03 (38:56)
d2t05 2:15 (46:49)
**From the second tape flip, it seems that the supposed first 6 songs of the second
set were not recorded.
-Levels slighly high at start of d2t01 but are lowered eventually.

Fixes:
-Removed pop R channel d1t02 0:29.661, 0:29.691 (<<0.001sec) with SF4.5 pencil tool
-Removed pop R channel d1t03 2:55.083 (<<0.001sec) with SF4.5 pencil tool
-Removed pop d1t11 5:17.861 (<0.001sec) with SF4.5 pencil tool
-Removed pop L channel d1t12 8:09.356, 8:09.386 (<<0.001sec) with SF4.5 pencil tool
-Replaced R channel diginoise d1t12 8:09.353 (0.036sec) with clean L channel
-Removed diginoise d1t12 8:09.353 (0.014sec)

Notes on source #2

The first few seconds of Carolina were trashed due to tape rot. The end of Bowie was cut, so I added a fade out.
The quality of the patch source was comparable to the original shn filesets, however the exact linage of the analog used is
not known. Hopefully this will be considered a more complete upgrade, especially considering the inclusion of the missing songs,
especially the ultra rare Roll Like A Canteloupe. Again - huge thanks to Greg Peeler for digging this up!
Enjoy! Any questions, feel free to email me.

Yes!!! Thank you. This show is the first Phish I ever heard. Up until that very moment, I was into Queensryche and other various sorts of 80s wanker rock. Phish saved my musical life. Through them I also discovered so much music...MMW, for example. They introduced me to Mingus. Mingus then introduced me to the rest of the jazz world, and the rest is history.

The Harpua is excellent. "Uncharted lunch Territory!"

Thanks again!!!

Thanks brah.
so I guess this is it then. until they finally kick down the Jazz Odyssey,

so glad to finally get this thing upgraded. sorry about the beginning of that Carolina as you could tell that was one old and well loved analog.

harpua13 2008-09-20 14:19:42
enjoy. this show is the freakin bomb and I'm ecstatic to see it finally out there for everybody else.

for that matter I myself have never gotten the first set until now because I wanted to do the upgrade at the same time, so this is a treat for me in that respect.
canpafe 2008-09-20 17:19:43
I have an old tape somewhere with the whole Bowie on it. I remember it well because it was my first tape, and I played it SO much. I'll have to do some serious digging to find it, but if I can, is anyone interested?
taperwayne 2008-09-20 23:55:48
Absolutely interested! Shoot me an email, we'll get it out there!
harpua13 2008-09-22 01:57:07
Damn skippy, that would be greatly apprecited!

I had forgotten how hilarious this Harpua was.
"Move over Poster!"
taperwayne 2008-09-23 20:49:18
Reba is clipped FYI.
We notate any known tape cuts with an // symbol in the notes. (fairly common on older shows from the analog days.) A few people had questioned this, that's what the little slash marks mean in case you were not aware.
