wonderful show and recording; one of my faves of '76; enjoy
Gallium 2008-09-20 21:47:49
the past couple of weeks with new 76 shows has been wonderful

((thanks))

By the way, as I understand things the mics are incorrectly identified. I don't think Nak 700s even existed, even in Japan, in 1976. And there aren't any documented usages in GD/Jerry land until 1979.

FWIW.

Git it, git it, git it!

Rock on!

afaik no version of the d5 was released yet in 1976 either, which leads me to believe the source info listed above (nak 70x > d5) is an error.

the lineage i have listed in my personal archive for barry's source on this date is:

sony ecm99 stereo single point mic>sony tc-153d>dat>cd(x)>eac>shn

barry does lurk here so maybe he'll pop his head in and verify the source info for this date.

I,ll agree on the sony ecm99 stereo mic into a sony 152 or 153, but as far as the Nak700s go they were not available in the US until 79 and then very haed to get.
The sony D5 wasnt made until 78 and the sonyTC d5m was around until late 79
Set us straight Barry, where are you?
mw3323 2008-09-21 11:08:57
the GD taping compendium II says the D5 came out in late 79 and the D5M came out in july 0f 80.

Thanks for the memories. I was at this show. what i remember most were the multiple breaks and crescendos in How Sweet It Is. Grate crowd energy. thanks for the effort in bringing it back live. I have to say, imho, next to Phil Lesh is there a better bass player than John Kahn? He is a rythm section unto himself. Peace everyone.
