Notes: This was my first Grateful Dead related show. I was a pretty little kid and we more or less snuck in
(OK, we convinced the ticket taker at the door to let us in by helping him clean up the stairs!). We also
found a backstage pass which got me backstage where I got ?this close? to Jerry (who I remember was
apparently ... um.... ?tuning up? (shall we say ;-) in a broom closet I was standing against between sets.
Hey said ?Hey? to me as he went back to the stage ? he had to since I was leaning up against the broom
Closet door trying to be unobtrusive. You?ll note that the second set is indeed notably more
?lively? kicking off with a monsterous ?Don?t Let Go. ? I remember as we were leaving, having to walk
around rather large pools of vomit all over the green plastic floor covering that was protecting the floor
of this gymnasium. Have no idea of the true source of this recording but it is no doubt recorded in the
back of the gym up In the bleachers.

Thanks to The Jerry Site and Ryan Shriver for introducing me to Walter Keenan who
provided a copy of his cassette, which I performed fairly major surgery on in
ProTools and CoolEditPro. Numerous channel drop-outs were repaired to dual
mono and a couple of ugly glitches were digitally spliced together, increasing
the listenability and enjoyability of this show.

i'll be honest, i'm fairly casual when it comes to the audio i listen to, meaning, i can generally derive some degree of satisfaction from most any audio even if it's not of the greatest quality; and while this source is by no means awful (listen to any Zep aud. recordings lately?), i'll rate it maybe a 4 on a scale of 1-10; it has its moments certainly, and all thanks to the gentleman who got this into circulation, but let's hope something of better quality surfaces some day; enjoy

For those who missed the previous night, go here http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=518752
for jg1976-09-16.jgb.sony-glassberg.jupille.12005. Two big sets and no flaws noted.....

Arbuthnot,

RIGHT ON (bro), I needed that! My HD is fuller than full (all three or four of them) and I just gotta be picky right now. Loved the story though from the seeder. When your amped comin' off stage, about all you can manage is, "Hey". Anyway, plenty o' J.
: *have* listened to lotsa Zep auds and GD just blows them out of the water, PA-wise (and almost always playing-wise, also. Too bad Jimmy was drunk so often... alcohol is one of the most debilitating substances there is [Yes, it's a very strong drug!!! Get with it, people...]. Someone on smack has a straighter head than someone who is blind drunk...) Anywho, thanks, Arbuthnot (interesting name there...)
Eric_A_DeadHead 2008-09-21 21:04:33
BTW, the "jupille" source (different show) I've listened to sounds very good!!! So, that's a good recommendation I'm guessing for the previous night (might be the one I listened to), anyways...
