-- THE SHACK PROJECT --
This is an effort to seed all existing MMW shows, and yes, preserving the original SHN/FLAC filesets. The seeding will proceed chronologically for the most part, with exceptions as we feel the vibe to seed other gigs from other times.

Thanks to MMW for allowing their music to be recorded....really, thank you.

Huge thanks goes out to the tapers, without whom this wouldn't be possible...and those that have helped get the tunes to our ears.

And thanks to the other 4 guys I've dragged into this and who seem committed to the cause: Louie, Mike Tom & Todd....we're all listening to these shows and hopefully circulating the best versions.

All shows listed here in SHN/FLAC will be seeded:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmw

These shows will be seeded as well, either by me or by one of a few other kind souls:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwaccess

Shows listed here circulate in some manner. We are looking for as close to the original source as we can get so if you can help out with any of the following, we'd all appreciate it:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwneeds (this list is in the process of being compiled...maybe forever?)

I've started a thread over here for us to be able to discuss this project:

The Improv~> Hip Chops is stellar, with such a smooth segue.
This Africa is in my top five. Logic fits in nice here.
Enjoy.
Phish who?
Fuck'em, it's played out.

easy todd...what does phish have to do with MMW other than give them tons of exposure and notoriety??

If it wasn't for phish, I don't think MMW would have achieved nearly any of the success they have endured.
newplanet7 2008-10-02 16:34:05
I will respectfully disagree with your statement.
The mmw fan base hasn't grown all that much,
and to say it has because of phish is ludicrous.
They would have just as much notoriety.
They get some of the same fanbase from the festivals
they play.
Their notoriety is from their talent, constantly working
and always coming out with new material. They take risks
and constantly change.

FWIW my initial statement was more of a joke, but sarcasm gets lost in translation over the interwebs.
newplanet7 2008-10-02 16:35:25
Didn't realize that was you wheels. 8)
dandanman 2008-10-02 22:43:11
so rough, you always post so relevantly, np7 - I happen to be BESIDE myself over the Phish news, but I'm still super psyched to hear a highly recommended improv -> hip chops and afrique! anyway, keep it real, and dabble only in the love, man - you can decide whether or not they're played when you hear them play again.
newplanet7 2008-10-03 16:00:40
It was a joke dan.
I was chatting with a few others on a different board who were
going to grab this show.
We were referring to the fact that they're will be other shows
not just the three in Hampton and how everyone will be expecting more than they could ever get.
SO THE PLAYED OUT PART WAS NOT ABOUT THE BAND BUT THE SCENE AROUND IT.
If you get offended that's on you not me.

Even if YOU don't understand my first post, it is still RELEVANT to the ones that know what I'm talking about.
FWIW I was a fan of the Phish and hope for the best.
Sorry it wasn't relevant to you. I'll clue you in next time on the joke beforehand so you don't have to save the comment section from my evil ways.

PS
don't take the comment section so seriously.

*nods*

I'm gonna try and be there myself with no expectations other than a great Phish show, but... yea. I guess I see what you're saying.

can't wait for the next MMW boot :-)
