| Description | IMPORTANT: If you downloaded the fileset I uploaded on Saturday, please delete it and download this one in its place. Apparently, there's a bug in Audacity which causes it to append silence onto the end of tracks when resampling. This fileset was resampled using r8brain (thanks to the person who suggested I try it instead!) and there's no added silence between tracks. I'm really sorry for the problems...

| Just a suggestion: I've found it helps to do the resampling with the entire file rather than in the individual tracks, which would've presumably avoided this problem. Generally when mastering the recording, I do any minor edits and EQ, normalize it if necessary, write a text file and note the disc seams, then resample, and then do the tracking last. Undoubtedly, there are many ways to perform these processes and I'm sure others would differ, but I thought I'd mention it here in case it might help at some point in the future. Thanks for sticking with it and getting this shared (and corrected) as quickly as you have. As always, Yonder-Tapers rock. |

Yes, thanks for sticking with it and uploading the corrected version.
As you were the only taper there, this one may have been lost forever without your efforts. |

You're right, Tim. However, it's double work to archive both the 48k/24bit files and the resampled ones, which I usually do (although I don't upload the 48k ones).
I really can't figure out why a program like Audacity, which has such a great rep, adds the silly, random amount of silence to the end of each track. I never would have guessed to even look for that at the end.
Live and learn, I guess...I'm glad you all enjoyed the show regardless.
Now to resample that Radiators show I uploaded in the summer the correct way... |
