NAKED GUY!!!
metawhy 2008-11-06 10:37:15
there's a vid of that dude jumping on stage on youtube. you can't really see him, but you can see the band's reaction. they seem really into the caspian they are playing - its a rockin version!

My 2 cents. This Split Open & Melt is the ultimate one, and it was from this Split that the song began to evolve the way it did. I'm telling y'all, this was the first Split that DID Split Open & Melt. It closed the first set and if you dont' believe me, you can ask the naked guy who was found a short time afterwards. A true Fall '98 musical moment.
MFF0RD6 2008-11-06 14:16:39
i think mike mentioned this melt as one highlight of the tour

Loren M. from hkavr70@aol.com: What specific song performance(please specify performance date) do you feel was the best "jam" ever (i.e. most adrenaline pumping jam)? Thanks for your time :) Loren

MG: I can speak for this tour--I like the "split open and Melt" jam in Madison WI.

Big thanks to Clancy for this one. I'd love to hear a non mk41 source from this night if there is one .
jek 2008-11-06 22:00:02
I, too, agree about the power and magnificence of this Melt - best one I saw! It is my 2nd favorite version, right behind 8/2/97.
superfreakie 2008-11-06 23:46:51
I must also weigh in and second others opinions that this is indeed a true MELT.
moonmoog 2008-11-07 00:43:21
cant wait to hear it thanks cheif
nolalion 2008-11-07 03:07:13
this is the show that the band changed the words to carini for the "naked dude" that ran on stage. flew up and hit this and the 3 nights at UIC that fallowed. fall 98 is a peak
okelnard 2008-11-16 09:36:54
