I have noe updated the 29564 entry:
http://db.etree.org/shn/29564
it is now associated with the 11/9/98 show, the FFP and FLAC md5 checksums are posted in the entry, and I created a new text file, based on the source info of the EAC version for 11/9 (SHNid 24646), and assuming the same non-EAC transfer info as found in the 11/8 non-EAC transfer (SHNid 31784). updating the track/song list was easy enough, so I think we're all set. unless for some reason gotfob used a different transfer or whatever, in which case I can update it again...

| what is the difference between a eac and non-eac transfer ??? which one should I download ? I would really appreaciate a little bit of info on this... (they both sound the same to me...) |

charlesl_73:
EAC is a program to rip WAV files from an audio CD. An "EAC transfer" is one where the DAT is first transferred to audio CD, and then to a computer (using the EAC program). a "non-EAC transfer" is one in which the digital data on a DAT is sent directly to a computer WAV files via a soundcard with a digital input. While you'd be hard-pressed to hear the difference, it's almost impossible to get a perfect "rip" from an audio CD, so the "non-EAC transfer" is technically better. Also, going from DAT directly to a computer allows one to archive the original, unaltered 48 kHz files, which is truly an identical copy of the DAT recording |

Thanks!!
Hoping someone here might still have the 8-12-1998 show to seed from these 10th anniversary files. It was my wife's first show. I am stuck at 59.6%...and all seeders have left it!!! Its the Neumann km-184s source (taped by Dave Schall) |
