More On DTS

Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound
like DTS, Dolby Digital and DVD-Audio. While the Audio-CD
standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new
sound formats, it is still possible to go around the
specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a
regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect
your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial)
to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that
your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio-CD, so the first
time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do
a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very
low, start the disc and rise the volume gradually. NEVER
listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analogue audio outputs
of your CD/DVD player.

Burning Instructions
Burn them the absolute same way as you would burn any normal
Audio-CD from FLAC files.

---------------------------------------------------------

Additional Formats

This show is available in the following formats:

1. The SBD and both AUD sources listed above at 16/44
2. CD-Audio Stereo SBD+AUD Matrix Mix at 16/44
3. CD-Audio 5.1 Surround Sound DTS-Audio-CD at 16/44
4. DVD-Audio Stereo SBD+AUD1+AUD2 Matrix Mix at 24/44
5. DVD-Audio 5.1 Surround Sound at 24/44 (6 channel x 24/44)

This web site doesn't work right now, is this just me or this a temporary problem...thanks.
cleeetusg 2008-11-14 13:57:26
Thanks for the seed! All I could say for like half an hour after this show was "2001...2001...2001" It's a blockbuster. Arguably the best set of the run.
cvillehick 2008-11-14 14:08:58
no, LL is a problem, you're right. if you like prohibition of free speech, being manhandled if you mention the Exxon Valdez or any other ugly facet of the world in the shout box, if you shout in the shout box, if you say anything other than "i love the grateful dead and LL," if you like to post 350 pot leaf emoticons on a shout post, then you'll love lost legs. the DVD offerings are great, but that's about all that's there that you can't get anywhere else. every Grateful Dead offering there is here, pretty much, unless you want 6 or 7 sources for a single show. additionally, they encourage you to donate and email the head dude, for lack of a more specific title that might not be KIND which is what LL is ALL about, so they can put your name on the donate list for kicks i guess, the head dude refuses to do it if you have a record of ever saying anything unkind (read: truthful) about somebody as stupid as our current--not recently elected--national CEO. that site sucks ass. a community is made up of people. people are made up of opinions. you can't disintegrate the connection simply on the "peace and love" advice that is so totally useless when you read anything remotely related to GWB. sorry they are obviously members of the Repubs from Foreign Countries Club over there as it ruins the good time. if you don't like shouting then don't put up a fucking shout box.

here's my advice on DTS: go to the bottom of this page, click on forum, go to ISO and throw up what you might want. there'll be a quick turnaround if it's available, and for the entire time i've used etree, i've never once seen anything remotely related to censoring the community for their opinions from the leaders of etree, and i've seen some illassedshit posted on here about members, bob weir (remember the iTunes/sbd thing?), and life in general. anyway, i continue to blow hot air which isn't kind.
ikki 2008-11-14 15:21:07
LL isn't even accepting new accounts right now.

But there are several active DTS torrents right here:

i downloaded this when it was posted over at lossless legs, and my copy has some skips in tracks 5 and 6 of disk 1. i wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing this problem, or if it was just my disk and/or player??
nab 2008-11-15 09:19:56
I didn't have any problems with any of the tracks.
GroovinTito 2008-11-15 22:46:51
I'm not having problems with the tracks, but I am having problems with decompressing the files.

I downloaded from here and Lossless Legs and the same thing happened. All I get is static when I decompress the files. I've done the same thing hundreds if not thousands of times and I tried using MacFlac and Flacer and I get the same results.

Did anyone get the same thing or does anyone have an idea of how to handle this? I am jonesin for this 5.1. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Delgado69 2008-11-16 08:13:16
THANK YOU FOR THIS SHOW!!!!!!

GroovinTito - I just went through a lot to get mine to work so I might be able to help. Tell me about your setup your trying to play it through. Also - are the files in .WAV format when you burn them?

nab 2008-11-16 11:03:11
If all you're getting is static, it probably has to do with playback, not the files. You need to have a dts compatible player, receiver, and 5.1 speaker set-up to take advantage of these files. Additionally the player has to be connected digitally to the receiver, like through an optical connection. Hope this helps, but from what you are describing, the problem seems to be 100% playback.
GroovinTito 2008-11-16 14:42:43
Thanks for the input guys. I need to upgrade my system and join the DTS train.

Also, I forgot to say before, thanks for the show. Thanks to all the tapers and seeders and those who help my addiction to music.
