Source: Neumann KM84i's (directly FOB center, about 7 feet high, aimed at PA) > 722 (24/96 w/ 40 Hz roll-off @ 24 dB/oct.)
Transfer: 722 HD > Spark XL (dither, re-sample to 16/44.1, normalized to -1.0 dB, fades, tracking) > xACT (SBE fixes & flac level 8)

| Heya taperjoe, wow, very similar they are. I don't think I can really make a call on one being `better` either. I'm just glad we both got some nice tape. :) I'll probably patch the missing pieces in to mine sometime today or tomorrow and re-release for anyone wanting. Working on this Radiators matrix this morning. |

| Hey taperjoe, I just taped BMR4 and Drew Emmitt Band next to some km184's from about 13 feet in front of the stage and the difference is quite noticeable. So.... Drum roll please.... I finally went and bought a matched pair of km184's, they're being shipped tomorrow.. wahoo! What I'd love to see if we meet up again at a show is how those km84i's sound compared to the km184's. Anyway, check ya later :) |

Nice - congrats on the new mics!
I'll be at Schuba's tomorrow (Sat. 11/22) to record Rose Hill Drive, & I'm planning to use the KM84's. If you haven't seen them, I highly recommend it. It's a 10 pm show with 2 openers - I know your mics won't be in yet, but maybe I'll see you there? |

| yeah I may just do that, I was at schuba's taping Ladyhawk and Lake earlier this week, got a real nice matrix, I just grabbed that table right in front of the soundboard and set up there. I'm also going over to the Chicago Bluegrass and Blues Festival today to see and hopefully tape The David Grisman Quintet and The Avett Brothers. Looks like Rose Hill Drive wont be coming on 'til latenight with 4 bands playing total there today. I also did tell a couple of my friends about it and they liked what they heard on myspace, so we'll probably end up coming in to check it out. Thanks for the heads up on this band, they sound great.
