"Encore is Nina Simone's i Wish i Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free"
Cool...we have this tune labeled as If I Only Knew on a few Dec '96 gigs...I just checked out the title and artist you provided, and I'm listening to a recording of this now...thanks.
Just found this:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
http://boscarol.com/nina/html/where/iwishiknewhowit.html
Written by jazz pianist Billy Taylor, recorded originally by Nina Simone and subsequently by Solomon Burke and Ray Charles.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Mike, I think you were thinking Ray Charles at one point about this tune...but you might know it from those '96 gigs... |

Thanks dirtye.
Duggy - I'm so glad you found that MMW has played this song. When they were playing it that night, I'm was almost positive that it was something they *had* played, albeit very very rarely. Really cool to know that it had been possibly 12 years since they last played it in a public setting. |
