its nice when everybody has that brand new string sound to them hehe. As always, great show great commentary looks like a nice 85 set to get down with, thanks a lot for the seed.
that new string sound, pretty nuts...because it does sound alot different than non-new strings, semi-used even. The boys putting the best of the best, into the best of the best..good, great solid beautiful stuff thank you |

Thanks for letting me go back in time and relive a bit of my youth! I didn't get to many Dead shows, but this was one of them. This venue doesn't even exist anymore nor does Astroworld where it was located. Those were the days when I could get into the right state of mind and not have a care in the world; I always had a friend who would do the driving! We went to Austin the next night. (I got that one 08/31/85 from the archives (thanks for the tip Steve)).
thanks again! |

Holy Canoli!! I can scrap my Oade OTS copy now (no disrespect).
Unreal sound on this one! What gets me is how this sounds so
much better than Mark's pull from the following night.
I bet this is THE recording to have of this night.
Thanks to all involved!!! |

Oops! I just read Mark didn't tape this.
Either way... This is the shit! |

ugh, I'm realizing how bad what I said could be taken. I know the
same gear FOB in different venues will sound different and I'm in
love with so many of Mark's recordings that I'd hate to offend... |

THANKS - these killer FOB's are great slices of history!
I appreciate your efforts and collection that you share.
If I remember correctly an interview with Parrish I read awhile back, he said that he "changed Jerry's strings at the start of each 2-3 night stand/run, sometimes even at setbreak if Jer asked." |
