First off, many thanks for taping and sharing. I have already listened to your source on Archive and have dowloaded it as well. Thanks!

Second, I was at the show and to my knowledge "Get Out of My Life" (some label it "Get Out of My Life Woman"; listen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LG0g7VMYa5Q) was not played.

Rather, "Glad You're Gone" was played in that spot.

I know the two have been paired together on multiple instances. (see: http://www.archive.org/details/dtb2008-08-03.akg480.flac16)
vwmule 2009-01-02 17:17:58
thanks for pointing that out. There does seem to be some confusion. Can someone weigh in? Would be easy enough to listen to the song on archive. I cannot find lyrics on Web.
funkngrooves 2009-01-02 17:54:46
I have noticed confusion with the songs, too. I think part of that comes from them having been played together several times, at least from what I can tell (whatever that is worth :) )

The lyrics to "Get Out of My Life Woman" as performed by Soul Stew Revival match up to those of the same song by Allen Toussaint.

I have looked for lyrics to "Glad You're Gone" as well, but have not found any either. I came across a blog post that mentioned "Glad You're Gone" as a "new Susan song." However, in listening to clips on Amazon from her new album I found that it is not on the album so I am not sure about that.

I have also seen "Glad You're Gone" listed several times on Archive and the ones I have found seem to be the same song.

Would be interested in seeing what others have to say as well.

Thanks again!

after listening to some of the archive shows, there is no question it's Glad You're Gone.

Downloaders, please fix your text files.

Whoever uploaded my source to the archive, please correct that as well.

RE: Glad Your Gone

Listen to 12/31/07 for the 1st "Glad Your Gone" (link to archive below)...during the transition from "Get Out of My Life Woman" to "Glad Your Gone" Susan tells the audience that "Derek said why don't you write the female version of the song, so in a second we'll show you what we came up with for the girls side"...then after some nice soloing by Derek they lauched into Glad Your Gone. So basically it seems to me that it is a song that Susan wrote but has only been played by this band (so far) and has not been recorded, hence no finding lyrics online nor finding it on Susan's latest album. Hope that helps!
