Notes:
- Thanks to Greg (AKA Garageboy) for another fine source. It's always struck me as an oddity that
these guys were billed with the Grateful Dead. There are a few parts where you can here crowd banter
between songs thats pretty interesting. My favorite is a lady who say " The Violent who". Not your
normal opening act for the good ole boys. Would have likes to see ole Jer dancing to these tunes :-)
- There are some slight fluctuations and mic bumps in the first track. the sound
levels off after Country Death Song.
- The beginning of Old Mother Reagan was missed in the tape flip. This tune is crossfaded, but incomplete.

Holy cow!
This blew my mind! We had no idea who was opening the show when we got there... then the Femmes come out! What a great surprise it was! We had so much fun dancing to this set, watching hippies shakin' it to the sounds of Gordon and Co.

| Many Thanks! I've only been waiting 17 years for this one to surface!! I remember thinking it would be Hot Tuna or some similar band opening...but what a shock it was one of my fave all time bands! It really did polarize the crowd between those of us who knew them and those who didn't! |

| I hung with a bunch of disco roller frisbee punk rockers in high school, so the Femmes were part of the summer soundtrack. Seeing with the Dead 10 yrs was a mindf*ck, to say the least. It's incredible to see this surface after all these years. Hats off to the taper, the archivists, and the seeder. |

| My buddy and I listened to the VF's first album 1000 times in high school. We hadn't seen each other for a few years and were meeting at this show. We ended up missing each other, never did hook up. I had *no idea* there was even an opening act (had other things on my, er, Mind) so when the VF's were announced and came onto the stage it's fair to say that my sh1t was blown out. There was a guy 10 feet from me that SCREAMED the entire set "You guys F-ing SUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!" I thought it was hilarious. Thanks to everyone for getting this up and out! |
