SHNs were decoded to wave and SF8.0 was used to reassemble
the tracks back to 1 long wave. CEP2.0 was used to align &
synch both of the sources. SF8.0 was used to reduce and
fix some of the close claps usuing the pencil tool. CEP2.0
used to adjust the volume for the SBD & AUD. This is a 60%
SBD, 40% AUD mix.

I have several different versions of this SBD. As it turns
out my 10 yr old DAT recording of this show sounded the best.
I'd say it was 1 gen earlier than what circulates. The
fidelity and the consistent speed would indicate that it is
indeed from casette master. The different versions I have
downloaded, etc sounded more like 1st gen. My DAT was also
listed as "CM > DAT". Therefore I am labeling it as such.
A very good SBD with everyone nicely in the mix. There is
a tad bit of distortion in Tangled Up In Blue but not bad.
The AUD is excellent. Allot of close crowd noise and chatter
between songs can be heard but this adds to the enjoyment of
the matrix and the 5.1. The taper was clearly up close and
in the zone. However, this windy day does mean that there is
some swirling of the sound and phasing issues. Which then
translates to the matrix and even the 5.1 (although only in
the rear channels). This by in no means bad but at times
you will hear it. Does not subtract from these really great
recordings and this killer show IMO.
d1t02 Cut on AUD source btwn All Around This World and FOTD.
Missing a total of 32.460 of crowd noise. No music or
anything of interest was missing. SBD was trimmed to match
with multiple edits (copy/paste, crossfades and volume
adjustments). This smooth and is most likely undetectable.
d1t03 Some wind noise can be heard on the AUD source at the
very beginning of FOTD. This is almost undetectable on the
matrix mix and pretty cool to hear on the 5.1 version.
d1t06 Dropout/glitch on Diamond Joe on the AUD source. This
was patched with less than a second of the SBD at 30:59.938.
This smooth and is most likely undetectable.
d1t08 Cut on SBD source btwn Ain't No Lie and I'm Troubled.
This was patched with less 7.836 of the AUD. This is
somewhat noticeable but hardly and not distracting. I spent
an entire day trying to make this edit smooth.
d1t10 The very end of Ripple was cut on the AUD source. I
was able to patch this with a matrix of the SBD and some
crowd noise to make it more like an AUD recording. That
plus a few edits (crossfades and volume adjustments) made
this patch very smooth and mostly undetectable.
d2t01 Big level change on the SBD during the opening 20
seconds of How Sweet It Is. I did my best to smooth this
out. Smooth and is most likely undetectable.
d2t03 Multiple inaudible dropouts on Get Out of My Life on
the SBD source. I don't know if dropout it the correct
term. There were 8 spots with less than 0.040 of a second
was missing. Completely inaudible but a BEAR to find and
make the proper adjustment to keep synch with the AUD.
This sucked but is smooth and is most likely undetectable.
d3t03 Crowd cheer missing between Think and Evangeline on
the SBD source. Several edits (AUD patch, copy/paste,
crossfades and volume adjustments) made to keep the flow
sounding smooth and natural. This is smooth and is most
d3t06-07 The very end of Let It Rock was cut and the very
beginning of That Lucky Old Sun was missing on the SBD
source. I applied an AUD patch with lead in crossfade
and lead out crossfade. I also used some hard limiting
and then reduced the volume to match. Furthermore I hand
edited (with the pencil tool) many of the close claps keep
the flow sounding smooth and natural. B/c this is a
change in source it is somewhat detectable by the listener

Thank you amdig for sharing your amazing work with us!!
|Thanks!! I've got the straight sbd kickin around somewhere...glad to add the matrix too!
IMHO.....if you only had one JGB show, this is the one you want it to be!
|Thank you, this looks great.
|This has always been a special show for me. It was the first tape I got of JGB when it was a very recent show.
This matrix really adds life to a rather dry sbd tape.
Really nice - I agree with the previous post about only having one JGB show. This is it.
| So I tried listening to this on my computer & all I got was white noise. So does that mean I can only listen to it on a 5.1 system?
|convert flac to wave, then listen.
i like to use WinAmp (free version), which can play FLACs and SHNs...no decoding necessary!
|ok, twist my arm...
thanks as always to the tapers, traders, digital magicians & freaks who made this possible. i had just turned 18...
|This is without a doubt my favorite JGB show, and I have hundreds. If you do not have this, do yourself a HUGE favor and download it now. You will be amazed!
|"convert flac to wave, then listen."
I don't think that is the problem since I have the plug in to play Flac on winamp, but I'll give it a try. Thanks
|Thanks to all that made this recording possible!
|Thanks much. I had a wonderful time at this show.
