I had Galactic on the calendar since December. I saw the lineup before I headed north. I was not too excited about having the Rappers along. I was hoping for straight up Galactic. The boys hit the stage just before 9:30. Lots of good tunes tonight! They invited the "rappers" up for 2 short songs each, not too bad. Once the houselights went down, the place erupted in smoke! Security was basically non-existant for the entire Galactic set, somewhat unusual for the Majestic!
Brian did a great job running the soundboard. Great to hang with Tom T, Miko, Amanda, Manny, Ken, and Joe. Met some new friends as well. Tom took the point and kept out the riff-raff all night! Where was Tony and Sarah, and Kastle and Ivan, Robar and Cervin? See ya Friday at the front rail at the Magic Bag?

| been seeing Galactic for a while...first time was in NOLA of course seems only logical! This should be a fine "listen" and I applaud your efforts. I know it took a while to get to the "hood" and then the hassle of set up etc. You are the best! Thank you Z! |

Gift of Gab and Lateef are part of Quannum Projects, a record label they started on their own in the mid 90s, through frustration in the industry. They make great Hip-Hop music that doesn't sound like Jay z, nelly, ne -yo and every other shitty mainstream "rapper" that gives REAL Hip Hop a bad name. From The Corner to the Block was one of the best Galactic albums ever made, they handpicked the best independent Hip-Hop artists in the game today to make an amazing record. I'd love to hear the set that "The Mighty Underdogs" did to open the show, but I'm guessing it wasn't taped. |
