| Thanks for sharing this one, hseamons. I sure am glad you and Bertrando got away from the Feds! That last set was always my favorite cassette for the sheer awesomeness of the spaciness and intensity (intermingled)--I never much liked having to flip cassettes or CDs to hear the whole thing through, so a seamless transition is the tops! Oh yeah, and thanks to you for all your efforts, Charlie Miller . . . . |

"what if your actions ended up preventing all GD related music from being seeded here at etree"
Who cares?
No really, who fucking cares?
Seed 'em somewhere else.
No one wants to say it, but you WILL be doing it if you're not already.
Or we could just go back to trading shows like we did before the Playstation Generation got involved. It's a shame to have to tell you but the trading community absolutely THRIVED before you booted up your pretty, pink Mac. Actually, lotsa things thrived. Believe it or not the wheel was not invented by wiggers and their 22's. There was a whole, wide world before you logged on.
Try clueing into reality for a change. The problem is not what is allowable and what isn't. The problem quite simply, is that the Dead's lawyers think they can make more money by taking bootlegs out of circulation. Good luck Goldberg! They were out there loooong before you graduated from Date Rape U. I know it will come as a major surprise to A LOT of people here but this particular soundboard recording has been in existence longer than you have. It wasn't just conveniently recorded the day after you got broadband. It's survived for 39 years with absolutely NO HELP from you. Imagine the world not revolving around your Twinkie-filled ass for a change. Scary, huh?
So what's the problem? There isn't one. Etree will still exist as a database when the lawyers shut down torrenting here. Which they will. Don't believe it? Go download a soundboard from archive.org then. It's just a matter of time. That big nose ain't just for holding up their glasses, people. Someone's gotta pay for all that blow and Viagra. And that someone is you.
Me? I paid my dues. I bought the tickets even if they sucked. I bought the CD's even if they sucked. I bought the albums even if they sucked. I bought the cassettes even if they sucked. Hell I even bought the 8 tracks even if they sucked. I'll never buy another thing from ANY major label "artist". I've paid enough lawyers fees to be O.J. So where's my "Kill A White Bitch 'n' Get Outta Jail Free" card? Shit, now I'm downloading VINYL rips of albums so I'll have something reasonably decent to listen to. Don't believe me? Buy a Beatles album. Idiotic digital crap. You wouldn't understand, you think all that compression is supposed to be there. Anybody remember mono? That's where we're headed, back to the FUTURE! Just ask Metallica.
For all you whiners thinking I'm cheating the Grateful Dead, they made about $200,000,000 in the last five years of their career. And that's just on the road. And no, that is NOT an exaggeration. How much did you make? Nevermind, you were still in 3rd grade. If they blew through all that then I'm sorry but I COULD NOT FUCKING CARE LESS. They had a good run. In another 15 years they will all be TRULY dead and no matter how much money they make now it ain't gonna change that.
I got nothing against the boys. Their lawyers? Well I would not be upset if EVERY lawyer slit their throat. Useless, subhuman garbage. Just ask Shakespeare. Don't believe me? I'm a carpenter. When's the last time you hired a carpenter to protect you from another carpenter? Never? When's the only time you will EVER hire a lawyer? To protect you from (TA-DA!!) another lawyer. Cancer works the same way. A self perpetuating disease.
So grab 'em while you can and fuck what comes next because it is well beyond your control.
Sorry but I'm sick of dipshits fretting over the well being of mega-rich Republicans. If you can get your head out of your ass for a minute, look around. There's plenty of people in this country that could REALLY use your help. But Bobby ain't one of them. Remember, he wouldn't cross the street to spit on you. So why are you so worried about him?
