Here is Saturday afternoon's Back Forty set. This was part of the Quarry Breakdown in Bowling Green, Ohio. It was an extremely WINDY day. The winds were a constant 40 m.p.h.! I mean all afternoon. By the time these guys stepped up, they "died" down to about 25 m.p.h. There was no way of running mics out there. The Covert Ops boys were kynd enough to let me grab the matrix out of their sound board. Thanks Erik, Al, Dallas, Kedrey, and gang!
They brought a surprise with them, the Funk Grass Horn Section. They sat in for about half the songs. As I told Andy, they certainly knew the music. He told me that they had indeed been practicing with them. They got rolling pretty quickly and had everyone dancing by the Groove Tractor. The long trifecta of Shiva>Imperial March>I Am the Slime was seamless. They closed their 80 minute set with a Roots>BDL>Roots sandwich.
Great to see Colin and his newborn baby! Great to hang with Andy, Dallas, Erik, Al, Kedrey, and the entire Covert gang. Also great to see Bill, Tom and Mikey, and The Greensky Boys,
