Hello all, this one has a story. I had never heard of Junior Brown before and I had just gotten to summercamp one set before this for Lotus. When I set up for Lotus I dropped taperjoe an email off of my PDA saying I had caved in and came down to summercamp. After a few minutes and a few mails bounced back and forth, Joe emails saying I should go check out Junior Brown after Lotus. Sure enough it fit in perfectly with what I wanted to tape and was close, being on the Starshine stage. I emailed Joe back saying I'd tape it and headed up there after Lotus finished up.
About 3/4 of the way through the set Joe emails saying he hopes I'm liking the show and hoped I wasn't bored. Junior Brown had just gotten done cracking off a stellar Albert King cover that left me with my jaw dropped and I emailed back telling him that, and that I was loving it.
I was quite surprised at how much I liked the show, the music ranged from chicken fried steak to mississippi mud. One things for sure, these guys have style(and Junior can play that instrument of his).
HUGE thanks to taperjoe for the suggestion on hitting this one.

| Thanks, man, looking forward to this one. I think he calls that thing a GUIT-STEEL, half guitar & half lap steel. Definitely a unique talent. |

| Thanks Junior Brown is the nugs. Junior actually designed his guit - steel guitar. I seen him open for Willie Nelson and Phil and Friends around 2002 and he changed my world. Glad to see him doing Festivals too get some exposure to the jam band communtity. If anyone is going to 10klf this year be sure to check him out he's playing at 11:40 pm. He won't disappoint |
