To answer my own question above, Phishthoughts has posted that the "No spoilers" Ian Stone source was:

Ian Stone: (Schoeps CCM41(din)>Sonosax sx-m2>Edirol R-01)

It sounded great!!

Holy Cow...I'm listening to this in my MDR cans (the wife is still sleeping) and I can almost smell the sweet nectar of beer, sweat, and kgb. Thank you fellas, you have definitely raised the bar for the tour.

took me four days to finish the hampton show. conversely, i saw 2 mb/s yesterday on another torrent which finished in less than 10 minutes. as for commenting on sound quality in the torrent, if that is a rule, it's many times not followed and frankly i can't see any point of not commenting on the sound, especially when it seems to be an unofficial competition with these phish shows as to who can a) up it first and b) have the best sound. the spirit of 'murca, babee.
dneblank 2009-06-05 09:23:52
Sounds great. Nice stereo imaging. But what's with the 'A++?' What is this, Ebay?

Thanks for putting this one up. Can't wait for the 4th!
mst934 2009-06-05 09:36:35
How close was this to the section? D2t1 of this source and the schoeps have the exact audible talking, actually, the entire show does. Good sound, a little bright for my liking, but thanks.
mfrem67 2009-06-05 10:17:37
Thanks for posting!
YokohamaJ 2009-06-05 11:19:25
Thanks for the capture and the up, I appreciate it!

As anyone looked at the waves form for this recording? This is wicked processed cheese. Although in a good way. Usually when I see a wave form that looks like that I am ready to hate the recording but I have to admit this sounds sweet!!!
dannyboy1V 2009-06-05 12:07:08
Even so I would like to hear this without the processing just for curiosity. Seems like a big chunk of the dynamic range has been lost.
dannyboy1V 2009-06-05 12:10:27
Yikes...3 posts in a row. Sorry. I didn't want to end with a negative comment - the is a very good recording. Almost as nice as the scheops FOB.
Kill_Devil_Falls 2009-06-05 12:18:55
You are right...this is processed cheese. Overly bright and over kill (levels).
Kill_Devil_Falls 2009-06-05 12:19:34
At first glance this may sound OK - but then your ears start to hurt.

Sorry - just an opinion.
harryhood_jr 2009-06-05 12:26:14
when I saw the big swarm I had to check it out but this is not very good
harryhood_jr 2009-06-05 12:26:58
I am not sure why people just don't get the soundboards? It isn't like an AUD will ever sound better than what Phish puts out.
metawhy 2009-06-05 12:50:40
"It isn't like an AUD will ever sound better than what Phish puts out."

I respectfully disagree
obaaron 2009-06-05 13:00:43
Sounds good to me. I am curious to hear how the unprocessed compares though...

thanks again.
