| Is there also more wiki about burning to cd, and listening, once I have downloaded successfully? I wanna do it on my laptop w/Vista but once downloaded I seem to have trouble listening and burning to cd. The wiki link seems to be for downloading/uploading and seeding. I'm clueless I know. Thanx for any help offered and enjoy the tour. The tapes so far are great! |

clarksburgmd,
When you download these files, you are getting them in FLAC format. You need to convert the FLAC files to WAV. I use FLAC frontend to do this. Then you can burn the WAV files to CD. |

clarksburgmd, be forewarned that there are known issues with the flac frontend installer on vista, but I believe there is a forum which describes a workaround.
mikemoss52, I am not a taper and so don't take this as fact, but I do know that Jones Beach can be a tough place to tape due to the wind coming off the water, and I imagine the rain during the second two shows didn't make things any easier. But I'm sure the wonderful tapers are on it, and something will surface here soon :-) |

for quick and dirty mp3 transfers of the last two shows go here:
http://phishthoughts.com/nospoilers/
each set is one big file and there is still many minutes of crowd noise... but, if you can't wait, these will give you an idea

clarksburgmd...
You are downloading FLAC files. You need to convert them to .WAV files to burn them to a cd. You can either do it using FLAC frontend or with Foobar. If you are using FLAC frontend on Vista you need to install the FLAC folder in the same folder that you keep your music (i believe this solves the issue with Vista. someone correct me if I am wrong).
I like to use dB poweramp to convert FLACs to .wav.
Db poweramp is probably one of the best audio tools out there. I use it for pretty much everything, ripping cds, converting file types, etc.

dbpoweramp is awesome just remember that you will have to get the flac codec once you dl the db.poweramp because it won't convert without the codec. They are free downloads:
here for poweramp:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/download.htm
here for codec:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central.htm
scroll down for flac codec, they also have an shn codec which is handy for older files before flac came out.

I think MikesMoss has a fair question and worthy of a reasonable discussion.
It is unusually that it's more than a couple days and a NYC area show in the comeback tour is not up by now.
I was wondering that myself.
I don't think that's being impatient at all.

I think if you look at the tour schedule you can almost find the "breaking" points where the folks taping and transferring might jump off the tour and process what they recorded. But, you never know, they may stay on for much of the tour and not seed until it is all over. I can see it being possible to see tomorrow's show seeded up with the 4th, 5th and 6th since the next stop is a bit further south and some tapers may not being making the next leg of the tour... who knows? We'll get them all soon enough that is for sure...
Thanks for another source of this one, btw. |

| all you need is a hotel room with wi-fi...I really stilll find it odd that I cant find torrents of the Phish shows...however, the Livedownloads of the sbds are up for 15 bucks..dont know if there is any correlation, but you really would think some taper up there would have uploaded their show by now...I also am very curios how they sound ;) |
