| don't get to excited. this sounds like it was recorded at the back of the theater well under the balcony. but hey i love this first set and listened to this aud many many times before PH thankfully LIVEPHISHED the full show. The GIN gets all the glory but the first set is money too. The Mango jam in Bowie is wicked cool, FLUFFHEAD is sick, and Mike just would not be denied all night. When Llama desinigrates into bass bombs the only answer is to play Makisupa and go reggae. Somebody mentioned in the 8/14 notes that it was the show of the tour. 8/14 was fun, this was a mind blower. I saw Stowe, GW, then Cincy to the Greek and I'll testify to this and Grand Rapids as the most intense shows of the tour. Chicago, RR and the Greek were epic, but these were very small halls. never seen any credit given to the taper with the NAKS but I have always wanted to shake his hand as this is the only aud source that has ever surfaced. THANK YOU TAPER. |

the taper section was in the upper balcony, and not even
center. It was off to the left and not in the front...it was in
the back. So, the limitations were severe right off the bat. What a show this was. After the spring 93 shows I was convinced the boys had started to go downhill (or something like that.....really fast tempos and sort of careless playing), and then this show blew me away. I think the official SBD is actually quite good for 1993, where some of the recordings (like the 5/8/93 release) are somewhat muddy. |

| 1114 do you remember if there were other tapers that night?? I never went up into the balcony so that makes sense why i never saw Doug. That said I've never ever seen another source for this show. One would think if there were other tapers they would be eager to share there version of this historical night. |

yeah, there was a handfull of us. I taped it with my NAK 300 cp1's and D-5. Nobody's tapes came out any good. That's probably why nothing was ever seeded. It's a good thing that it was released.
