I'd put my recording of this head-to-head against the official Phish releases and I'd be willing to wager money that mine will whip the pants off of theirs!

| one could have taped in a porta-let from the campgrounds and made a better recording than the official soundboards. |

| Thanks so much for sharing! Your Gomez show sounded great (24-bit; 16-bit is off LMA for some reason). |

| Yeah I think something was a little screwy with archive.org for a bit, but my 16 bit Gomez seems to be available again.... |

Check out my album of photos from Friday's Bonnaroo sets (including some great Phish shots taken during this set):

| This source has WAY less drunken crowd chatter than the first source that came up (the 4-channel). The music sounded great in that other recording but the chatter during quiet parts was too much for me. This one is debatably better in terms of music SQ and MUCH better in terms of limited crowd banter. |

| You were a trooper. I remember seeing you set up late for this one. Seems you were in that pit for a lot of acts on the main stage. Nice job! I also noticed you never had wind screens on your mics. No phasing or wind noise issues on the main stages? |

Yeah it was NOT easy to get into the pit for each act. People had been waiting for HOURS to get their spots in line for the pit (especially for acts later in the day). I had to weasel my way in to the line for those sets, or rely on the kindness of people who "got it" with my taping.
That said, big props go out to my wife Jen who was there fighting for her spot with me (sometimes even harder than I had to). And for "taking one for the team" when I got into the Beastie Boys pit and she couldn't. Not fun being separated at a huge festival!!! Not to mention that you couldn't leave the pit once you were inside, so I had no opportunity to get water or food or hit the port-a-potties from before Beasties until after Phish [5+ hours]! That was ROUGH!!! |

Oh and I am for windscreens when necessary, but I have a pretty good sense as to when I need them and when I don't with the TLM-170s. They have some built-in wind resistance, and I never felt like there was any wind to speak of during the entire festival. And the recordings bear me out. No wind noise or phasing.
Windscreens are not transparent to the sound. They do filter out some frequencies and should be avoided if not necessary. |

Thanks hon for the recognition! It was VERY difficult getting into the pit for the Friday night Phish set at 'roo. Kids had been lining up all day and I joined in the melee only to fear for my life--when they opened up the gates there was a mad rush and I thought I'd be trampled. Was worth it to be 10 ft from main stage and positioned right in front of MG's amps.
Scott really gets the props tho--he rocked the whole weekend in the pit and got the killer recordings all because of his effort (draggin gear through mud, tall grass and to multiple stages). Much <3 to my man and his Neumanns!

| ....not to mention COMPLETELY destroying the wheels on my almost-new Pelican rolling bag! Again, worth it for the recordings but I think I need to order myself some replacement wheels. :-) |

Truly a great recording.
The LivePhish sbd sounds flat & boxy compared to this.
Many thanks. |

| Thanks! I'm still comparing sources, but I'm going to collect them all from this one! Phish was *on fire* for this one! The jam after KDF is a face melter. I especially like the little purple haze tease in Wilson! |

Just listening to this source, thankyou,
Was the seque from track 13 (Kill Devil Falls) to Track 14 (Free) this sudden, or is there some missing data/music at the end of Kill Devil Falls?
Thanks, I will check another source to see if this was the case. |

In reference to my previous post, I checked another source. AS well as redownloaded Track 13 and Track 14 from this source.
And I believe that there is indeed a few minutes missing from the jam at the end of Track 13 (Kill Devil Falls) |

"And I believe that there is indeed a few minutes missing from the jam at the end of Track 13 (Kill Devil Falls)"
Oh, yeah. Track 13 definitely cuts off early.
I hope you'll repost the show corrected, Scott, because your recording is so nice, especially the bottom end is more detailed than other sources, including the SBD!
Thanks for all your work.
