>did Jackie smoke Cigarettes on stage?
Not that I saw. He had on a white sleeveless shirt on with a black vest and white hat and beard and looked more dylan like then I had seen him before. Show was well attended but did not sell out.
PS: There were 2 other tapers there with mic stand and one guy had a "colorado taper t-shirt on". |

he thinks hes Bob Dylan. his pictures on his website and management website show him smoking cigarettes and makes it look like its cool to smoke. I wrote to his manager and told him I thought it was in bad taste to young people to have all his pictures showing him smoking. I told him it was not 1970 and asked him if Jackie thought it was cool to smoke and if he thought he was Bob Dylan. I asked him if Jackie was promoting cigarette smoking. It sure seems this way.

Great show by Jackie, Phil taught him well and the lessons were learned and implemented. Hazel Miller is THE local Blues Diva in Denver, she brought great energy to the show.
Had a great time at the Bluebird- a very sweet venue. Many thanks to phil-er-up for suggesting the journey and his work capturing this show.
And a US BLUES. :-) |

i strongly disagree that he "thinks" he's bob dylan. he's said he gets compared 2 dylan so much, he actually tries to avoid the comparison. having first seen dylan in '63, i totally see the strong similarity, but i attribute it to jackie being a re-iteration of the energy flow that gave birth to the '60's and all that followed, and not any attempt on jackie's part to imitate him.
i do wish he'd quit the cancer sticks, however... |

"Giving Up The Ghost" is a great album.
I don't get a Dylan take at all....
If anything, he reminds me of Bob Welch
era Fleetwood Mac...at times vocally.
YMMV....
Oh yeah....quit smokin' bro.

| Give the kid a break, I have seen him with Phil twice, SF New Years shows. I think he gets it quite well, very enthusiastic, EXCELLENT guitar player, EXCELLENT vocals, EXCELLENT song writing, (i'm guessing his songs). I actually thought he'd do very well touring with the Dead as well. DON'T HATE, APPRECIATTE!!!!! |

Thanks for posting the show!
I think you forgot to list the last song:
Write A Letter Home, it was the second solo acoustic encore that night, I helped him out with the lyrics. |

hey Laurakelch
You are correct when you stated:
"I think you forgot to list the last song:
Write A Letter Home, it was the second solo acoustic encore that night, I helped him out with the lyrics."
I knew there was another song in the encore but I did not find it and sorry I missed putting it in the text file. I checked a few times and even went back to the original files to make sure I didn't mess up in post processing. Still didn;t find it.
Thanks for catching this and its great that you helped write it.

I can NOT take credit for writing the song! He forgot the lyrics on stage that night and I yelled them out to him, that's all! (I did request it though). Thanks again! |
