Nice! I've been looking for good copies of these shows for years. This was my first Phish "fest." The music was outstanding - and they even had side shows, with Del McCoury (who shows up on the second night to help lay down the greatest "Get Back On The Train" ever), Ozomatli, and I think a few others.
Thanks! |

| how's this source? |

| Yes, insanely hot - just a pair of shorts and sandals for the whole weekend. Great scene during non-showtime, I think night 2 was when I got the moma dance. |

Shoeps Mk21, id# 90835 is also out there, and IMO, better. I find it more clear and well-balanced, less boomy.
For the 18th, there is a Neumann U89, shn id:3604. Ditto the above on it's comparison to the AKG source. The AKGs do seem to be the standard circulated source for both shows, though.
BTW, hell yeah it was hot. I personally believe that, by the 2nd day, someone had dosed at least one of those giant 10-foot high tanks of drinking water. The one I got water out of! Anyone else ever think that? |

| The Schoeps mk21 was seeded by shnfamily in May, so I decided to go with this source this time. |

| The fungi was insane! There was a guy and his girl with a backpack stuffed to the brim. They used or tent and scale and kicked us some for free. Thanks for the source! |

Just listened to this over the weekend ten years after I fried my body and brain in upstate ny.
Discoveries:
1) Fishman from 10:00 on in YEM is killing it like I've never heard him. Some special playing from Tubbs.
2) the Coil outro where Page usually solos is instead accompanied very subtley and beautifully by the band. Not something I recall hearing in many modern Coils. What a beautiful treat to discover ten years later.
3) the On My Knees with Son Seals (the "Bad Axe himself" - who played on the side stage too), the segue into Have Mercy, and the slowed down crawling funk of Sneakin Sally still hold up as great playing.

This is the best source out there. And despite what "sirfunkenstein" claims, this source is least boomy.
BEST SOURCE OUT BY FAR! |
