Here's another one from the DAT collection of Keith Litzenberger. The only info I have is what was listed on the DAT. I believe the info is correct because some of the same crowd noise can be heard here and the Tony Suraci source. During the set II tuning a fan requests "The Wheel". This guy seems to be in between this taper and Tony Suraci. So that tells me the FOB info is correct. There are no cuts where cassette flips would normally be and it sounds really crisp and clean leading me to believe it was mastered on PCM. God Bless The Grateful Dead, Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing htis with us all. I hate to be a scumball, but can anyone seed 5/26/93 by chance?
DarkStarCA420 2009-08-04 06:42:35
This is a sweet show. I love the '83 sound...Brent was really psychedelic with his sound on the keys all year. Is there a nice clean board of 4-3-82 somewhere? another sweet show :)
DarkStarCA420 2009-08-04 06:46:00
heard somewhere that Phil is quoted as saying he never remembers ever playing in Santa Fe. too much burgundy wine I suppose...

thanks to all who post this great stuff!
terrapincane 2009-08-04 07:05:10
post-Space is great!!!!
TheUSBlues 2009-08-04 08:16:26
DarkStarCA420- Phil actually wrote about the drive he and Jill took from Red Rocks to Santa Fe on this tour in his book.

You know what we call half-whispered stories from mostly drunk friends? UGLY RUMORS. Look it up on Mars Hotel. ;-)

PS- Thanks for sharing this tasty treat!!
UrbanSurfer 2009-08-04 09:25:53

mw3323 2009-08-04 15:43:55
i gotta see about getting another batch of DATs from Keith. I think this is the last one.
wkl_taper 2009-08-04 16:14:02
oh, there is plenty more where this came from if you feel like going through them and organizing.
AldoDaFrenchGuy 2009-08-04 17:38:06

** oh, there is plenty more where this came from if you feel like going through them and organizing **

I can only hope 6/17/88 is in there somewhere ... That show needs an upgraded source circulated ...
Eric_A_DeadHead 2009-08-07 09:44:11
This is one of the best AUDs I've EVER heard... It's one of my Top 3 AUDs "off the top of my head", no wait, *the top of my head has already been offed*, so off the top of my... uh... brain stem!

Thanks...
amoricanian 2009-08-07 21:57:19
Highly recommended.
ParadysWaitz 2009-08-08 19:13:11
This is a great show which has had GREAT fob auds around for years. Always welcome another source.....

Thank God for ALL the tapers. Take a bow.
captainbisco 2009-08-10 22:38:54
Wasn't this the first Dead show ever to be digitally recorded? When I was growing up, I remember someone telling me that.
mw3323 2009-08-23 16:15:45
the taping compendium vol. II has 3/25/1983 as the first digi, audience GD recording. Anyway, there are several digital auds before this one.
forcestream 2009-10-01 22:29:01
Thanks for this. These SF shows were by far my best touring memories. That whole tour was special.
It's funny, I finally just read Phil's book and he talked about leaving the band and traveling this tour with his future wife starting in Boise and driving through SF. That was exactly the shows we did.
brilliantmistake 2009-10-12 21:29:10
Oh my gawd!! This is the most insane audience tape I've ever heard. It also just happens to be one of my favorite shows from 83. Incredible energy and the setlist is as good as they get. Truly monumental download. Thank you, thank you, & thanks.
rockymtnryan 2010-09-15 00:58:01
Friggin' love this show. So good.

Thanks!
