I saw the band earlier this month in D.C. and that was great. But last night took it to another level. Derek played with passion and intensity. The Anyday was epic and they broke out Afro Blue. And for many, the highlight was the sit in by Joe Bonamassa (this was a blues festival, after all). He shredded appropriately.
I liked the tribute to Les Paul. For the first few songs, Derek's gold Les Paul was on display at center stage. Bonamassa may have played it but I can't be sure.

| Thanks Alex..I was there and it was blistering hot during the day..Banamassa was very good as well..When he came out to play with Derek he was wearing shorts and Flip Flop sandels.. The place was not ready to handle the crowd long lines everywhere and the venders ran out of water and food too.. It was worth it though great music. Jason Isbell played also... |
