This was the last truly great show I saw the band do, with the famous Kesey rap about Bill Graham.

duanebase, you are an animal! i am reminded of the story of the brave little taper, but you have seeded eight with one blow instead of seven.

I have to agree with spinyn
this show, for me was the end of an era

SO GLAD TO FINALLY HAVE THIS! I remember the whole run...so sad after BG's death....there I am, in the basement hallway, doing the liquid boogie right next to the hallway speakers (fantastic sound) and Kesey joins the band, reading a poem by e.e. cummings I had JUST read myself a couple days earlier, the Dead whipping the music around him, and Wavy Gravy walks right around me, diggin' it all....a personally monumental moment.

Any chance of the previous 3 shows around?

THANK YOU!!

These Oakland shows were my first and were amazing, missed this show tickets were hard to come by , but the other three- wow. News of Bills Death on the way down to them, apples at the door - David Grahams speech and the Oakland coliseum lit up like day with lighters/matches during it. Mickey sending Bills soul on its way with incredible low sonic booms banging with his fist what appeared to me to be a old growth tree trunk approx 5 feet in circumference?
The 28th was incredibly powerful in my opinion - it was the night of Bills funeral and the band created a powerful musical statement on life/death. After Stella Blue there was no applause just peace ,stillness and unity. Many people at the show has the same powerful experience upon leaving- quite the night, not to mention the 27th with Carlos and Gary Duncan from Quicksilver jamming with Jerry on Mona in a little triangle on stage.

can't wait for the gems versions - great news!
