Here is tonight's Phish show from Indio, California. Today was the 3rd and last day of the festival. We were all a bit tired, I know I was. I was very excited about the acoustic set that was scheduled for noon. I have never had the pleasure of seeing Phish perform acoustically. They came on at about 12:25. I was amazed how many folks were there this early in the day. We settle in up front. I was with the usual suspects, Taylor and Beth, Greg, B. Austin, Orechall, It was sunny and hot. Trey convinced the crowd to have a seat. That lasted for a few songs as we all came to our feet for the rest of the set.

The acoustic set sounded great! Actually, the sound was consistanly very good all weekend. They did a nice job picking songs that would sound very good acoustically. Water in the Sky was a nice way for the boys to get their feet wet. I am not a big fan of Brian and Robert, but it comes across better acousticallythan electric. The Curtain With stretched the boys out a bit. Wilson>McGrupp was areal treat! What was really cool, was nog only getting an encore, but 3 songs!

After a break of almost 4 hours, the boys opened up electrically with an AC DC Bag that led to Rift! Reba, Guelah, SOAM, Tweezer>Maze. This set ended and we were now going to take another long break. I have never sat through a 1 hour and 26 minute break at a show before. Chris went back to the hotel as he was not feeling well. I decided to run his rig in addition to mine.

The 3rd set opened up with aTweezer, what would a 3 day Phish Weekend be without a Tweezer? The Tweezer led to a hot Maze. The Mike's Song led smoothly into 2001! The set closed with a Slave to the Traffic Light. A three song encore and we packed up and said our goodbyes. I talked Christy and Eric into a ride back for myself.

In retrospect, we got a very nice performance for the entire weekend. The weather was about perfect. The company was excellent, the food was excellent, and the ambiance was done right!

Nice to hang with Orechall, B Austin, Gordo, Mikey and Christy, Keith and Mollie, Justin, Carrington and Joanie, Causey, Frank, Adam, Sean, Christy and Eric, B Lee, and everyone else.

Happy Birthday to Scot-Tay M! Always good to see a grizzled tour veteran celebrating another big day!

Enjoy show # 242 of 2009!

Thanks for all your hard work this weekend. Wasn't able to make it out there with my 18 month daughter and pregnant wife. I really enjoyed your taping of Halloween, damn they really nailed Exile, one of my favorite albums of all time. Thanks for all your work and speed with putting these up, it looked like everyone had fun, and IMHO the best post cypress shows I have heard. Its good to have a clear headed Trey back!! And the rest of the boys are on fire as usual.
