-- THE SHACK PROJECT --
This is an effort to seed all existing MMW shows, and yes, preserving the original SHN/FLAC filesets. The seeding will proceed chronologically for the most part, with exceptions as we feel the vibe to seed other gigs from other times.

Thanks to MMW for allowing their music to be recorded....really, thank you.

Huge thanks goes out to the tapers, without whom this wouldn't be possible...and those that have helped get the tunes to our ears.

And thanks to the other 5 guys I've dragged into this and who seem committed to the cause: Louie, Mike Tom, Todd & Jeff....we're all listening to these shows and hopefully circulating the best versions.

All shows listed here in SHN/FLAC will be seeded:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmw

These shows will be seeded as well, either by me or by one of a few other kind souls:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwaccess

Shows listed here circulate in some manner. We are looking for as close to the original source as we can get so if you can help out with any of the following, we'd all appreciate it:
http://db.etree.org/duggy/mmwneeds (this list is in the process of being compiled...maybe forever?)

I've started a thread over here for us to be able to discuss this project:

enjoy the grooves,
Louie, Mike, Tom, Todd, Jeff & dug

***FOR ALL YOUR SETLIST NEEDS***
MMW Performance History @ http://mmwhistory.com - this is a fantastic resource that allows you to look at info on gigs by MMW and related side projects and guest appearances; big thanks to Tom for creating this page.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We are actively updating all setlists as we seed, and also others outside the particular order of the project.

db.etree is also being updated in tandem with the updates to Tom's pages -- both the source and show pages.

For instance, all 2008-2009 setlists are up to date with actual titles, etc. And some of the '99 shows have needed some considerable corrections/updates.

Any show with Friday Afternoon in the Universe is a keeper -- so you're all gonna love the next night's show, on 11/14. I'm a HUGE fan of Nocturne as well which is always played well, and with varying approaches to the tune over the years ... for instance compare '98+'99 Nocturnes, and then listen to 2005-06 versions ... love that tune and this show's performance is certainly worth a listen.
Very cool improv off of Ancora during Bubblehouse, and when we get to 11/17 they actually sandwich a more straight up version of Ancora inside Bubblehouse ... this Fall '99 tour is killer!

mic location was......8 ft high Row A seat 12 dfc.

This was the first time that I saw an older well dressed (coat and tie) couple at an MMW show. Maybe they had subscription tixs for all events at the Peace Center. There were many couples like this one at 5-18-01 Symphony Center Chicago, and several exited after 25 minutes.

Chaffe, did you record 5-18-01? I thought my mindisc recording was the only source..
raoul76 2009-11-06 12:36:46
I can't believe it's been 10 years.
raoul76 2009-11-06 12:42:00
These along with the Davidson/Blacksburg to kick off 2000 are some of the most inspired material that I've ever heard.

Thanks for more MMW magic. May you live to be a thousand years old.
