| also wanted to add that i think people too often automatically think that FOB is better than an OTS pull. this OTS source is smooth. |

agreed Todd. i always do intense comparisons of all sources, and i feel this OTS is all-around much better than the FOBs, not to be a slight to those tapers. FOBs can be hit or miss depending on how close/far the soundboard is.
i find the other FOBs available now for this show to be too boomy and muddy...not enough clarity or high end. this is a great OTS pull that captures the room well. |

too add further, i also think alot of people assume a source from a certain microphone will always out-do another type of mic...which is probably true alot of the time, but not always.
i would usually expect an mk4v FOB to kick ass, but i have several shows where something like a Beyerdynamic, Audio Technica, or MG sounds much better for that show.
many factors to consider, i suppose. not a taper, just a taper lover!!! |
