This is the most underrated 1991 show. The boys were on from the first note to the last. This was more than just a solid show. They brought that something extra to every tune. I believe the performances of Stranger, Rooster, Althea and Might As Well are among the best ever. They ended the first set with a roaring Music Never Stopped then Jerry took it upon himself to extend the set with a supreme performance of Might As Well. What a treat that was. They nailed it. Unimproveable. It was the best first set I ever saw.
The lengthy, jaw-dropping version of Eyes, with no letup whatsoever, convinced me that the show could end and it would be the best Grateful Dead show I ever saw. The tunes kept coming and each one was a masterpiece. As Hornsby lifted Sugar Magnolia into the stratoshere, I was convinced that it had to be one the greatest performances. This is what the older Dead were all about. What a show.
I would love hear a Matrix recording some day. The audience was right there with the band. Good times.

| I agree with sdawg, at least some! Best non-Branford, post-'78 Eyes imho, all of which was happening at the moment of the vernal equinox. Not the best show I ever saw, but a pretty great one, and very underrated. |

| Loved this run. SOmehow, convinced my parents to go to every show as long as I made it to school the next day. No better feeling than sitting in last paeriod knowing in 2 hours I'll be in the Lot. |

| I almost never listen to anything after '77, but I like this show alot and will check out the upgrade. love that Eyes->Foolish... |
