taperjoe has also posted an alternate source from the same stand with his ksm32's for those interested in checking it out...

traderj,
excellent, thank you! :)
also, thanks for the alternate recording, traderjoe...
after listening to both, I have to say the KSM32 is much more enjoyable for Rush fans. The bass can be heard and everything just blends together better. It's a Rush experience no one will want to miss!
btw, the bass was quiet in the live venue, so it is a real treat to hear a recording that captures everything with such a great balance.
neumann's are great mic's, but on this night for this music the sound is too pristine- the guitar tone doesn't rock like it should, and the vocals are highlighted too much in the mix. I'm very grateful for both recordings- not being picky, just sharing my observations... I was wondering why the vox were up so much in the mix, because they weren't that loud at the venue- but I guess in part that's because neumann's are such excellent vocal mics!...
some of it may be due to sound systems, I'm listening on an audio system with mid-range studio speakers...
again, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! :D

| You don't often see 3 versions of the same song. |
