Nice and thanks for some Funky meters!
Munene 2010-02-01 18:50:30
Wow, instant flashback, thanks!

I remember The Neville's were playing their own new years gig at another venue that evening, but they were kind enough to start off the festivities for the deadheads. Do you by chance have Olatunji & Drums of Passion's set? (and while I am at it, I don't have a good sbd of the Dead from this night).

Peace,

Munene

Setlist:
d1t01 - Hey Pocky Way ->
d1t02 - Willie And The Hand Jive
d1t03 - Big Chief
d1t04 - I Love You
d1t05 - Wake Up
d1t06 - Brother John / Iko Iko
d1t07 - Midnight Key
d1t08 - Fiyo On The Bayou
d1t09 - Amazing Grace
d1t10 - Down By The Riverside

Midnight Key was the "highlight" that was televised on USA (it was USA, right?) at the beginning of the NYE broadcast. I believe that show was Bill Walton's intro to television broadcasting.

Thanks for the setlist.

I just did a new 24bit transfer of the GD set. Look for it soon.

Don't think I say thanks enough, thanks to jam8 for sharing and BIG THANKS to Chuck Miller for all he does for us mere mortals.

I was also at this show. The Nevilles were a complete surprise and made it a very magical evening.

Thanks for the upload.

Thanks for this upload & the work put into the show--most appreciated!!

Does anyone know the Nevilles lineup for this show??

Was it close to this??:

Art 'Poppa Funk' Neville - keys, vox
Aaron Neville - vox, percussion
Charles 'Boy Wonder of Sax' Neville - sax
Cyril Neville - percussion, vox
"Mean" Willie Green - drums
Chris Severin - bass
Michael Goods - keys
Makuni Fukuda - guitar
charliemiller 2010-02-03 16:57:21
I'm 99% sure that Brian Stoltz was there.
mmwarchives 2010-02-04 01:38:42
Yes, probably Brian & I guess also Michael Goods would not be there on keys as
Art was probably handling that, no??
traderx 2010-02-04 23:44:01
Mr. Charlie, thank you for another great memory rush - the Coliseum floor was really crowded that night, but everyone was cool, and the Nevilles ROCKED!!!
...and yes, Mr. Stolz was in the lineup......
jonrtyler 2010-02-06 19:41:25
Most likely, the bass player was Darryl Johnson.
Luckymudster 2010-07-30 13:15:47
Thank you very much, jam8, for your soulful generosity!
