This is an uncirculated source. I received this is a trade right after the show, but forgot from whom. Source was written on the discs, so I'm sure they are correct. Thanks to the unknown taper, though it probably wouldn't be hard to figure who it is...
This sounds very much like it was taped on the same stand as the FOB MK4 tape (#89098), or at least in close proximity...
Listen for me whistling at 1:02 of Wilson (pfft! pfft! pffffft!)

I EACed this back in 2003. I've sent out SHN discs to various people. This is the same exact set, only I converted to FLAC tonight for convenience.

"This sounds very much like it was taped on the same stand as the FOB MK4 tape (#89098), or at least in close proximity..."
We didn't use a stand to run the mk4V's this show....ran them in a hat.
I have no idea where this was taped from. I'm guessing much closer to the stage than we were. We ran kinda far back--PA was kinda high and we woulda been under the sound if we went much closer.
I didn't think there were any other FOB sources of this show. Looked around and never saw anybody else rolling FOB.

hey Terry, I didn't put that Phulcrum source in circ - the only DAT copy I had of this show was the FOB taped by carrion crow. I ended up patching in a bit of the phulcrum source in the middle of tweezer to cover up some weird glitches on the FOB. Then the MG210 source (Wilhelm) came around and sounded the best to my ears. It really seemed like a challenge to get a good tape out of that room.
this second set has always been a holy grail set to me, such amazing playing by all four, and the little transitions and jams between songs are so cosmic - this might be the quintessence of phish 99 for me. |

Thanks Crow, thanks Meta... If anyone can figure this out, it would be pretty sweet...

I just added this one to the etree database:
http://db.etree.org/shn/105984
thanks Terry.
and just for clarification:
>>> Then the MG210 source (Wilhelm) came around and sounded the best to my ears. It really seemed like a challenge to get a good tape out of that room.
the MG m210 source for this show wasn't taped by Jason Wilhelm, it was taped by Beau Colburn. or at least, that's the only MG source currently in the db (maybe Wilhelm taped it as well, but it's not circulating if he did).
anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing this one, and see how it compares. thanks again. |

| From the source information, this sounds like Chad Fagan's rig. He was a Neumann taper living in Charleston, SC. He used the exact rig mentioned with no A/D convertor, just the SX-M2->D8. |
| joshnicu |
2010-02-11 10:02:41 |
oh! and if it was his rig:
transfer would be:
Tascam DA-20 MkII->Turtle Beach Fiji->SoundForge 4.5->CDwav edit->CDr |

Are users stating this (or the MG210) stacks up better than the Phulcrum?
Thanks in advance! |
