Did the GD post 75 ever play a better 3 night 3 city run of which this one is the middle show.......? Thank you for tricking out the most hyped up show in the history of GD music Hunter.

Thanks. Can't wait to hear the matrix. Needless to say this show was a blast. They seemed to like the old "Barn"

Hey Hunter, I have a question. Is there a specific matrix related reason why you chose this AUD source over the Moore? Does it mesh better with the Eaton transfer for your purposes or is it personal preference? Just curious...and thanks for the work it's much appreciated!
hseamons 2010-02-14 14:55:51
cmgordon,

I like Stevenson's AUD more than Moore's. It is fuller and more robust sounding, to my ears, and would thus mix better as well. Moreover, Stevenson's AUD had not been used for a matrix yet, and he specifically requested for someone to matrix it, via his source info file.

I don't think it's the best show ever (and perhaps there isn't a "ONE", as in the Dead's music, the "one" [best show in this instance] is *wherever you sense it to be*), nevertheless or MORE... I'm more partial to the 9th than the 8th, and the 7th and 5th get more play, also, as well as one or more of the latter April '77 shows...
Perhaps because expectations were built up so high, the show couldn't possible live up to it's billing, ESPECIALLY since I have so many other "favorite" shows, and I like to think in terms of favorites rather than absolutes like "best", since all experience, as sensed by the individual, is subjective to that person, so... One man's "best" is another man's "pretty good", and NEITHER is incorrect. There can be no "objective" qualitative measurement of how "good" a show is [or none that would make any sense, since much of what we enjoy is on an emotional level, more than a logical level, and cannot be measure QUANTITATIVELY], there *can* be concensus on things, and I don't think there CAN ever be a "Greatest Dead Show Ever", since someone like Bob Weir or Phil, or any of us, might just not agree on principle, just to skew the results... Actually, there are so many and so many different kinds of Dead Heads, that the concept of "best" becomes almost pointless.

Right, thanks for the show, one of the best ever, for sure (or by general concensus)...

this is one rightous show ..just a darn well performed show from start to finish ..just exactly perfect !!

it's down right comical listening to the audience at times yelling for tunes ..like the dude yelling for truckin' america's favorite song and sounds a little bummed when scarlet starts..

great work on this matrix !!!!

peace and jerry on!!!!
