The one and only time I've been backstage at Phish. Some kid that I met the day before and I had the honor of polishing the tour bus wheels for the privilege of the pass (smart/lazy tourbus driver right there). It was small-scale all the way. Bottles of Sam Adams on ice and few people milling around in this little hospitality area. I mostly remember talking to members of DMB (LeRoi and Carter in particular) until Trey came out.

For the few minutes I got to talk to him, all I remember is talking about the Gamehendge CD-ROM that never came to be. My new friend was alert enough to request Esther at the Fox and I, not really knowing enough about Phish rarities to truly capitalize on the opportunity, requested Bowie in Columbia. Sure, they probably would have played it anyway, but I was pretty freakin' excited when they did. And, although I couldn't be there, when I saw that Trey had followed through on the Esther request at the Fox, I truly believed the Bowie was mine. Good stuff.

SICK show. One of my favorites. Second set is as good as it looks.
