| Yep, not a free show. Bizarre venue though. A small grass patch wedged b/w 2 bars with an office building for a backdrop. |

| Amazing night under the stars out in Tempe. Beautiful, tiny, outdoor venue, that yes, was kind of wedged between bars. I remember before the show hanging out and having drinks looking down into the venue from the outdoor balcony. Very trippy. And the show itself is an absolute smoker from start to finish. My favorite Split Open and Melt, ever. Seriously. Get this show for the Melt, if nothing else. I was patched out of this rig that night, 3rd deck, all going analog out>in from the lead deck. Beautiful recording of a semi-overlooked show. If you don't have it- do it, do it now. |

I clearly recall seeing the Tempe cops up on the balcony of Balboa's Cafe during the "Police in the Corner Gunning for You," part of Stash.
Also saw Widespread, Samples and Blues Traveler at Hayden Amphitheatre. Too bad they don't have shows like that anymore.
