Thanks to Graham and Ben Miller from The Low Anthem for permitting me to record and to going to bat for us tapers.
This venue and musical act were a taper's dream. Aside from the unabashed camera weilders, snapping shot after shot, the crowd was excpetionally QUIET and attentive - jah bless thm all. The show was held in the basement of Montreal's oldest Jesuit church built c.1865. It has since been renovated complete with the modern advances in sound reinforcement and seating.
Due to fire regulations I was not able to record centre to the band as I hoped.
Please enjoy.
If someone could upload this to archive.org it would be greatly appreciated. |

Sounds like this show was in a great setting for this very interesting band on the rise. They've had at least one set on NPR's live concert podcast, which you can still download. Here's an early story on them if anyone's interested:
http://www.jeremydgoodwin.com/the-low-anthem.html
"...There’s a certain chilly joy to be had in The Low Anthem’s mysterious, beautiful album, 'Oh My God, Charlie Darwin.' For all its snow-swept ruminations on dislocation and disintegration, and the lingering storm cloud of some crucial but elusive American riddle hovering above, there’s a wholeness at its center—even if one stitched together with disappointed, purse-lipped Yankee resilience—that in the end is a kind of comforting..." |

jahdawg,
i know brad allowed the barr bros. show from the bootleg theater to be circulated and judging by your recording of the low anthem, this recording probably sounds 1,000x better than that show. typically, unless brad specifically tells tapers not to circulate, i think you can circulate. did you talk to brad about it in person and you're waiting on the go ahead from him? |
