Here is the Stephen Stills set from Friday. A nice mix of tunes for sure.
Stephen can "Still" play the guitar, although he has lost a bit of range on
the vocals. Always a pleasure to see him perform, and even better when you
are cool to record him. Thanks Stephen!
Great hangin' with Nick, Rich, Ira, Jay, Lee, Fyke, Big T, Alex, Tommy J.,
Trent, Scott D, Matt H, Douglas, David, Chris, Murf, Dan (Awake for this
Festival thanks to Kirkland Energy Drink), Soling, Kevin, Pat, Brooks,
Steve, Brian, and the rest of the FOB tapers. Great to hand with Horace,
Kiel and Jenn, Ananda, Dan, Dan, and Danielle, Julie, Todd H, Ian and Robin,
Michael and Ashley, Flynn and Heidi, Ash, Laura, Mike, Barb Z, Sara T, Drew,
Jaba, Papa Joe, David, Farley, Chard, David G, Josh B, Lindsay and Mean
Gene, Kenny (Thanks for hauling help for both late night's), Travis, David
and the rest of the crew! Where were Luby and Andre all weekend?????
Dinner tonight was Mellow Mushroom Pizza all day from Laura, Granola Bars,
Some Chocolate from Julie, and lots of water!
Enjoy show # 98 of 2010! |

Nice pull indeed. Love those Schoeps, though if there are any mixing issues they're fully and precisely preserved for posterity (and there were a few here)...
An interesting set (with a band in response to the earlier question). Stephen is in his standard form for the most part but:
I Wanna Make Love To You
is stellar! This version stands with pretty much anything he's done in decades. He's still capable of pure magic when he works to it. Essential for this at least.
Thanks again! |

Thanks,
I almost drove down there friday f/ atlanta. i looked at the schedule and saw there would be no way to make it in time for Stills and i said fuck it. This was one of the shows I wanted to see. I saw him at the Roxy a few years ago and later on in the set he pulled out some nice guitar work. Love it! Thanks!
