For those that care, this was done with Schoeps hyper cards.

Thanks so much for the tapes / seed / etc. Here's a little memory from (before) this show...

The night after my favorite show (6/18/94) we drove to Kzoo with no hotel room.

Pulled into the Marriot in the middle of the night and the band's bus was parked out front.

We got shut out of the hotel b/c there was some motorsports event in town and all the rooms were booked.

As we left the lobby there was a crew of wooks milling around the bus, and one of them had the bright idea to knock on the door. Knock knock. No answer. Knock knock harder this time. No answer. Wook bangs on door. Finally the driver opens the door.

Wook: "is the band on the bus?"

Driver: "what band?"

Wook: "Phish"

Driver: "I don't know what you're talking about. This is Dixie Carter's bus."

Laugh riot ensues as the wook's friends get all bent out of shape that the driver just lied to his face.

It took us about three days to realize who Dixie Carter is... Mr. Drummond's hot wife!

In any case we drive towards Ann Arbor stopping at every hotel and some time around 3am finally found a room that according to the front desk guy "a few marines left in the middle of the night but it hasn't been serviced."

Needless to say we didn't care so we took the room.

It wasn't so bad that the beds were already slept in, but it was a little bit of a gross-out that they left a floater in the toilet!

Thankfully I drew the long straw that night and scored the fresh cot.

Next day was State Theatre Kalamazoo which was the first time I experienced a ton of ticketless people outside a Phish show.

Good times were had by all... except the guy behind us that got tossed before the first song for smoking the worlds thinnest joint.

And that's pretty much my only Dixie Carter story.

Here's an amusing interview from that night...

"Part I of a TV interview I did with Phish at the State Theatre in Kalamazoo, MI on the day of their June 19, 1994 appearance there.

I must mention that after the interview I made a request of Trey for that evening's show: Run Like an Antelope. Check the setlist... :-)"
