Here is last night's Widespread Panic show from The National in Richmond, Virginia. It was round II in this intimate little venue. We knew from last night that we would be taping directly behind the soundboard. Last night, Team Richmond told us not to bring stands as we would be up front ith only 2 stands. We found out we had to go back behind the board. We set up DFC in that area and we were ready to rock and roll! Last night Bennett borrowed Jim's A T & T card so the stream would roll. Tonight, I would take a shot at the ztream. Tonight was much less hassel going in and we knew where we were taping from so getting set up was simple. I was on line and ready to stream as the boys hit the stage.
The first set kicked off with a vry nice Surprise Valley, only instead of the Drum Solo near the end, we were trerated to Fixin' To Die, and then the Drum Sol?Surprise Reprise>C Brown. A very nice surprise after the halfway point, was The Shape I'm In, one of the songs that was soundchecked yesterday as we awaited doors. At about the 64 minute mark, we were getting to the end of Solid Rock and I thought the set was over. Enter B Of D>Action Man. A healthy and long first set.
T Light kicked off set II followed by a smokin' Machine>Barstools (This never gets old). I got my first crack at Dirty Side Down, not sure just yet. This lead to a strangely placed Wonderin'>Ribs. Another out of place song, Nobody's Loss was next. Time for some heat as we got a Papa's>Drums>Papa's>TYS>YGY>Chainsaw to end the set. A great double encore of Gimme>Walk On, finished off the 2 night stay in Richmond.
Great hangin' with my great hosts for the 2 nights Ck and Becky, Craig, Charles, Brad and Jen, Bennett and Jaquee, Paul, Tito and Tracy, Leigh, Jim, Mitch, Innis, Carrington and Joanie, Drew, Kirby, Big John and his Protege Michael, Price, Mike, Jim (I'm Not Beggin' For Murceak), Lynzz, Lynchie, Kenny and Laura, Freedawg, Lil, and everyone else. Great to also hang with my friends on the Ztream as well! Thanks for being there! Thanks Chris and CW for providing us with optimal sound, and Paul for excellent lights!
Late night dinner consisted of Extra Spicy Broccoli And Chicken, and Pork Fried Rice from Top's China. The Spicy Pork and Broccoli was devoured before leaving at 4:30.
