| I was there for this show. If you listen to the second set you will understand why this became a live phish release. This is a must have for all true phans!!! |

| Yeah this show was, for me, a great and crazy ending to a little mini tour ...from Great Woods to Sugarbush. We got lost trying a "shortcut" to Rte 100 up and over the mountain (through the State Park) & ended up in Deliverance territory on dirt roads at top of the mountain. Got directions from a dude in a giant 4x4 with gun racks in the window, a HUGE cowboy hat, beard that hung out the window of the truck and a tee-shirt that looked like a tuxedo. "You boys look loooosssst" Gave us great directions after warning us emphatically about moose. Got there, had to park at the very bottom and got the shuttle bus ride from hell going way too fast but somehow thankfully didnt run over any of the folks walking up. Milled about during the 1st set searching for a spot with good sound ... got slap with a THIGHS sticker on the forehead .... followed a giant conga line lead by a dude with sign that said Gamehendge or Bust down to the front ... where the sound was fairly terrible and swampy and ended up back up the hill a bit in a giant never ending session circle with a different crew from our home town. Set break. We're hanging still sessioning and I get a tap and pass from ...holy crap ... Mike Gordon & next to him Page. They hung with us for a good 10 minutes and were soo chill. We talked about Jones Beach the night b4 and got into a discussion about Mike & Page trading harmony lines ...most of which went over my head. Then they disappeared into the crowd and about 20 minutes later launched off into one the best sets of Phish a boy and his cat (and I) have ever witnessed. |
