| Description | Ok... Hi again folks. I don't think anything by this great band has been on this tracker before at all. There are around 20 shows listed at db.etree.org but this is not one of them, and there are some others in circulation not listed as well. Well, an effort by me to change that just a bit starts here. This recording is just outstanding and it captures the band in full stride nearing the end of the reunion tours which started in 2000. In fact, this show takes place less than two months from the eventual wind-up date of November 23 marking the end of the final leg. The Chameleons were a band that excelled at creating an incredible atmosphere, one that was compelling and intense and made you feel as though you were experiencing something cathartic. Frontman Mark Burgess was going to take you with him on a hypnotic journey during every performance and even to places of an uneasy and soul-bearing depth, but you knew that he would bring you back home again safe and sound. As their loyal and sometimes fantical fan-base immediately knew, this was music that was literate and witty, but was delivered with angst. Totally satisfying on many levels, this one is a keeper. Enjoy...

Many thanks my friend!!
Was lucky enough to catch them twice during the '87 swing through LA. One of my all time favorite bands. Mark Burgess is a legend imo!! |

OK ... thanks again for uploading!!
... BUT why did you change the file names from your upload on DaD just the other day ?? Now there are 2 sets of files with different names of the same show - both started by you. Hey you are the taper so who am I to argure and it's your prerogative but seems a bit strange to me.
That said I do appreciate your generosity in sharing!! |

You have just made my day! I have a birthday on Saturday, and this is the best present yet. I have been a Chameleons fan for years, and couldn't make their reunion tour in '02- killed me. One of the 'great unknowns' of the scene in the '80s- but one of the best. Dark, post-punk, pure rock, whatever you want to call it..Mark Burgess' voice is one of a kind. Thanks to the taper and seeder.
If you're curious, check them out.....
Anyone with top notch Chameleons shows, PLEASE up them...
BTW, just check out their albums....amazing studio stuff. 'Script of the Bridge' and 'Strange Times' are in a regular rotation for me...fwiw. |

| obh2o... yes... I added the word "-late" to the track naming to differentiate this fileset from an "early" fileset, that is ALL that was changed. I intended to do that to begin with, but it slipped my mind before I uploaded to Dime. The FLAC fingerprints are exact, just that naming change, and this is the more correct fileset naming, IMO. If you have any experience trying to get something deleted from Dime and changed... and the incredible dificulty... then you would know why I just let it ride as it was listed there. |
