I re-seeded these after exploring the pre-emphasis EQ topic, and determined that no post processing was needed.
IMO, EQ adjustments in post on 16 bit sources will degrade the data and should not be done unless absolutely necessary. |

Yes, the pre-emphasis EQ that the Tascam DAP20 applied at the show was left intact. The original source was transferred from the DAT and written to a wave file. The 16/48 cloned wave file was only resampled in Audacity to 44.1 Redbook CD audio standard. The preferences in Audacity were set to default to 16/48 before the resampling, so there was no dither, only a resampling.
This is as pure a capture of the master DATs as possible, with only the resampling to allow for CD burning. |
