Kevin Shapiro is who we need to lean on. He was one of us.
He's responded to me before, maybe I'l give it a shot. |

my thought is to make a stand...put the section on the lawn or in another out of the way place for a few shows or a tour...make the seats less desirable to these a-holes...tapers would figure out a way to make good tapes...i thought it was bad when i d/led a fob recording and some dude straight yelled into the mics and his reply...i just wanted to be on the recording...really ass whipe...you really think the people who may end up with a copy of the show want to hear yelling and screaming over the band...how messed up is your brain to think like that...
we are losing the moral values of our community...first it was tickets and scalpers and a new breed of phan who pay what it takes to get in...thank god for cash for your extra and others who use craig's list and sell for face...i would give a ticket away than sell it for over face...then cheap beer in the lots...really...kids walking around hampton lots spring '09 with natural light 12 packs...and not even embarassed that they have zero taste in beer...now the taper section has been invaded...i have flown mics, protected gear, patched out, had a spare deck in cases of emergency, had extra batteries, loaned flashlights, etc. the section is where i used to sneak down to in the pavillion...mainly because the sound was real good there and it was quiet attentive phans...who knew how to dance in their own space...god bless all you guys and gals that are living through this loss of what made phish what they are...we need to create a water wheel or green crew type group to educate new phans...they don't realize how they are ruining our niche in the world...i still remember thinking if the world goes to shit on y2k...what better place to be than on an indian reservation with phish...somehow they would make it happen...even if it meant strolling through the campground and playing at everyone's tent...where have we gone... |

nice tape considering the situation...bass sounds nice and tight...seemed a little all over the place early on...maybe from the pa? but a real enjoyable pull...thanks for your efforts...they don't go unnoticed... |

Man, I had all these thoughts last year.
I hope we can turn this community around. People can be such A Holes but why at a phish show? Go see kings of leon or something. |

Wow, after reading this thread and my kid talking about Phans grabbing seats in the tapers section, I'm becoming as concerned about Atlanta as I am excited.
I sought and received taper tickets in the lottery for Alpharetta because I want to tape. My son will be with me because wanted to sit together, but he knows how to act in the section and helps me set up.
I only hope there are no assholes next to us. Actually, a taper I know has seats next to mine so that will not be an issue.
Why doesn't Phish just set up a section near the SBD like Panic? I've never had issues at a Panic show. Hell, they even expanded the section in Orange Beach to make more room for the dozen plus tapers there both nights.
And I'm not starting a Phish vs Panic thing here. I like them both. No reason not to! ;-)
I'm almost glad I won't be taping on July.
Hoping for the best.
