as we stand on the edge of eternal darkness.
Let our chant fill the void

Please will there be a 16 bit version?
Thanks again, either way. |

i dunno if i should make 16 bit cuz the GD released it and you can buy their CDs..i like to respect them..
if anyone from the organization reads this, how do you feel about it? |

i've been reading the threads over at LL, and i just was listening to a 24 bit of 4.28.71. i also have this show in 16 bit. i also have this show as part of the Ladies and Gentlemen... release...this controversy over Bear's reels somewhat resembles many other releases, in that the tapes of released shows appear here and there for d/l. i'm not trying to stir the pot unnecessarily, but it seems that since this was Bear's...and they didn't release Bear's on the DP, that this should be ok as a 16 bit (did i read that bear had asked specifically for 24 bit?). i agree that any person capable of understanding bittorrent sharing and all that goes into it should also be capable of easily converting 24 -> 16--this is frightening in what could happen after that, beyond simply personal listening pleasure. once it's out there, it's out there in whatever form it was originally seeded and the byproducts it could produce, however. outta the cage!!
either way, i'm VERY glad to have a GEMS of a Bear recording. really appreciated in MANY circles beyond the .com world of sharing. THANK YOU JAMIE AND aLL involved in sharing this with music lovers...that's why we're here, no? |

i just may,i just may..just trying to be respectful,but i understand the 16bit desire..hell, i like 320 mps3 from the 24 bits for the car
thanksforlistening, its an honor to share these |

^^^^
hell, i like 320 mps3 from the 24 bits for the car
;););)!!!! i swear i won't teLL a soul...cracks have formed ;). but i agree on the 320 motorvehicle conversion...
it's worth noting that i believe many peeps trading, like myself, already have these DPs, and for whatever reason, are interested in seeing the sound from a different angle, if i may. i'm not arguing for a 16 bit at all, just so we're straight. 24 bit is startlingly good for me.
THANKS again for aLL the hard work you devote to this thing caLLed the grateful dead, it's an honor on my part to listen to these and furthur share this relic of gd family memorabilia. |

| the GDP release sounds pretty darn good. how could these two sources be different? |
| rustystrings |
2010-07-15 03:44:15 |
the GD at any gtiven time, especially on big shows, had multiple mixes and subfeeds going for all sorts of stuff..theres monitor mixes, Bears tapes, rex jacksons mixes, betty cantors mixes
basically, the official releases are what they considered the best source to use..they have them all..but sometimes whats commercially viable sound and what sounds like the good ole gratefiul dead are different...
do yourself a comparison and tell me..i would Not waste your time, promise. this is the Real Deal..Bears tapes |
