These 2 track sources are probably the best versions in circulation from the straight SBD patch.
The fact that the band's 24 track source box set was announced today is great news.
I always thought all the 2 track SBD sources in circulation were all a little bit flat sounding, and I have generally liked the audience sources better overall.
Now, I am so excited to get my hands on the multitrack since that is a version we have never heard before.
Thanks for posting these one more time just for kicks. |

just out of curiosity, what's the difference between this source and the new box set?
the box set is official, i know that much, but can someone explain why it will sound the way it does? what is the difference between a 24 track recording and a 2 track recording? they're both directly from the soundboard, yes? with a two track recording, is it just the L/R stereo output from the mixer? |

<<with a two track recording, is it just the L/R stereo output from the mixer? >>
Yes, just a stereo out from the soundboard...usually juat what you are getting through the PA.
A 24-track means that you have all 24 channels direct & separately recorded so you can mix
them however you choose in post-production. It gives you greater control to create a mix to better
represent what it sounded like that night or to mix it however you want the band to sound.
Fantastic show...listened to this many times(including the first time when I was in attendance).
Thanks for sharing & if you don't have this/never heard it, jump on it immediately!!!!
Cheers!! |

| Just received and listened to the box set. It sounds "ok" which is disappointing. Generally speaking, it sounds kind of flat, which for me means all the instruments sound like they're at a similar volume throughout. I don't sense a lot of dynamic range. This is purely personal, of course, but I find this mix more pleasurable to listen to... |
